Astrologer Ajit V Khawad didn't set out to become an astrologer. Coming from a family of jewelers, he was very content with his career, but an unexpected pull towards Vastu set him on the path he now calls his life's work. 

"Basically, I am a jeweler. I belong to Jaipur. My forefathers were jewelers. I am still involved, but thanks to my kids, I am free these days. They take care of the business," he said.

The shift, he explained, wasn't something he chased. It found him. "Astrology is God's gift to me. I was always interested in Vastu and had an intuition that I could do astrology," he said.

That intuition turned into practice almost immediately. "In 1999, I had visited many houses and factories in Jaipur and had guided them according to Vastu. The prediction I had given them was very accurate. Without looking at their horoscope. I had told them about the possibility of a tragedy," he said.

From there, one discipline led to another, even as he stayed rooted in his original trade. "After that, I gradually started Vastu practice. I have been practicing Vastu since 1999. But I have never disturbed my jeweler's ears. After that, with Vastu, I learned astrology," he said.

He didn't stop at one school of thought either. "There is Lal Kitab, BNN, Vedic, and I have learned Rammal. It is the oldest knowledge for someone who does not have a horoscope or a date or time. It is very useful in emergencies," he said. 

Years of study eventually built into a full-time practice with a considerable client base. "After that, I learned numerology and astrology. I have given consultation to more than 5000 people," he said.

Word of mouth, he said, has done most of the work for him. "If someone gets a benefit, he sends four new clients. My work is going on, but I stay away from social media. Because I know if I share an opinion, there will be a clash. And I don’t want to get into that," he said.

He has also built a teaching practice on the side, one that reaches well beyond his regular circle. "I started coaching. I do one-to-one coaching and even do it online. I have taught many students. My clients are not from my circle but people whom I meet randomly on various occasions," he said.

But for him, the purpose behind all of it comes down to one thing. "My aim is to solve people's problems without scaring them. I don't earn money by scaring them. My aim is not to earn money. I want to earn blessings with money," Ajit ended.
